From what I've heard, this is shaping up to be the best VH record since "Fair Warning" and DLR's best since "Eat 'em & Smile".Comment

ADKOT definitely puts to shame the 1996 songs IMO.
Those two were ill-conceived anyway. I still like them but these new songs just blow them out of the water.
As whether its too early to add the new record to the holy six pack.....well.....bottoms up!

Although I feel like it's a little premature and sort of bad karma ---- I believe ADKOT is going to cement itself as part of the Glorious Seven-Pack as it will be called for centuries to come. I've heard enough snippets to know this is not weak shit --- these fellas went back to their roots and there's a deep well of inspiration, people.
Even tastier idea ---- I believe this 2012 World Tour will make the band even tighter as a unit and they will come up with jaw-dropping shit for Roth-Era Album #8 ---- that one might be the Grand Daddy of them all. No more wasted time on hand surgeries, getting married to gold-diggin' bitches, or waiting on Wolfie to graduate high school --- these dudes will buckle down and bang out stuff that will make our grandkids jizz in their carbon-fiber undies.

How many other acts on Interscope do an album and a tour then sit on their asses for 4 or 5 years? I think they're gonna keep busy 'til it's time to bag it all together. If they can keep a production schedule similar to Cheap Trick, we'll be a well taken care of fan base.Comment

100% agree. There is something different going on here. I think they may have re signed a deal with the devil or something. Ha!Comment

Definitely not too soon to say 7-pack - unless you think this is sub-par compared to the original 6-pack. Based on what we've heard, this is definitely NOT sub-par.Comment

So far so good with the new tunes....they all sound killer....and some of them we have already been familiar with for years so we already know they are solid. Let's just relax a bit with the whole 7 pack conversation. CVH 1978-1984 was a moment in time that will never be re-captured again. We should just let that be.....let it be glorious and amazing because it was. This is a new era for this band and that's a good thing. There is no doubt a classic VH feel to it still but it's different, heavy and kick ass as always. I don't really know just how to put it into words. Does this album really have to be part of a "7pack"? Let's leave it alone and let it kick ass on it's own. If this was all 4 members of the CVH era maybe you can say 7 pack....and that's not a knock on Wolf at all cuz I happen to think he can play his ass off. It's the dawn of a new day, a new era for the Mighty Van Halen....let's just leave it at that for now. Maybe over time we can include this new album with the classic 6 pack but for now just enjoy the piss out of it.Comment

Yes, yes & yes. The only thing that is kinda scary to me is the 13 songs on this album. That's a lot. Plus the dvd, extras, acoustics, videos, free show at Cafe Wha? Almost like a...we're only doing this shit once so load up. I hope not, but I can't help have that thought in the back of my mind.Comment
