Official "A Different Kind of Truth" Album Review Thread
Like most here, my favorite tune changes almost daily....
But I always come back to She's the Woman. It may not be the best song on the album, but to me it has the most classic VH vibe of the 13.
I will admit that STW is definitely the song that has grown on me the most since the album dropped. Used to grate on me all the extra added Dave-isms in the song, but now this song busts my balls with the best of the 6-pack!
Ed's guitar hasn't sounded like that in decades! Hammer-of-Thor type shit!
Dave is Dave. The trademark screams aren't near as common as they used to be, probably his lung capacity isn't the same as it was years ago, but he's hitting high notes he wasn't hitting before, so call it an even trade.
Dave's body took a beating over the years, flying splits, the most extreme axe kicks I've ever seen, etc... Without a doubt the most athletic frontman in history.
I'm suprised Dave can still walk--that stuff will destroy your joints over time.
The energy his body can't handle anymore has absolutely funneled to his mind...the guy is sharp as a tack. This record is the most verbally busy VH record ever. Tons of "Rothisms" on this CD.
