Whoever mixed this record should be shot in the head. The sound is narrow, with very little separation between the r/l channels. Almost mono except for small bits in a few songs.

I'm no audio engineer... but damn.... my goldfish could do better.

Other than that, it's a fucking masterpiece.

are you listening to the CD, or downloads J? i'm on my 5th listen through headphones, apart from bumping the treble up a bit it sounds pretty good.

the vinyl should sound better.

WOW - at the third attempt I finally picked up a copy. I was again turned away in my lunch-break, this time with a "come back in an hour." I couldn't so I went back at 5.30pm and there it was on the shelves in prime position. I bought two copies - one standard, one deluxe. For those of you who, like me, go back a long way and even further, and don't have the album yet, I can tell you that when you walk into a music store and hold ADKOT in your hands......it's surreal. It's a moment you will never forget as it will take you back to the good old days when you were a teenager and Van Halen ruled the earth.

I've heard worse. On various sites people have declared that ADKOT is so good that they're throwing their copies of 1984 and Diver Down in the garbage.
They're just caught up in the excitement of the moment.
Once they've worn this one out like a $5 hooker (which, at this rate, should be sometime next week), they'll realize how outlandish their comments are.

I'm not yet prepared to place ADKOT higher than 7th - but only because the six-pack is so sacred to me. Maybe down the track......

I must be in the moment, or the wait has been too long, its just the passion in Ed's playing
again is overwhelming. We all thought he was down for the count, and to be proved
