I like the ending in particular:

The question that needs asking, or answering, is simple: 35+ years in, with the fifth singer change (Dave-Sammy-Dave-Gary-Sammy-Dave), is A Different Kind of Truth a better Van Halen album than MDNA will be a Madonna album, or No Line on the Horizon was a U2 album? The answer is clearly yes. We’re not necessarily talking about soul here . . . rather, a different kind of inner/outer expression. Think of neon. Eddie doesn’t have as many lightning bolts as he once did? As DLR might ask — how many you got?

I don't see how anyone can say 'Stay Frosty' can be a clunker, it's the killer song on this album (for me), can't stop listening to it cranked up. The only problem is I have tinnitus...now there's a definition of frustration !

There's only one clunker, and that's the 'HoneyBabySweety..." thing. Don't get it, it's dark and ugly and does nothing for me, but others here seem to love it. Maybe it's cos I just listen to the guitars, not really the lyrics.

Reimburse us for 'Stay Frosty'?

Ed's solo in this one is fucking sick. Different from any style he has ever played and it rips. Reminds me of a Mr Rhodes style.

It's "Rhoads" but totally see where you're coming from...it IS a kick-ass solo!

I envision Honeybabysweetiedoll sounding better live. Just hope they do it. I picture Dave dancing around like Morrison in the Oliver Stone Doors movie. Y'know, with the indians that weren't really there. Don't ask me why. I just love the hypnotic vibe of that tune.

By "around here" I mean this site, y'klnow - the one you'll no doubt be getting banned from again someday...and at least my "trailer" isn't in a backwoods swamp, Elbow.
