    Pre-concert VAN HALENIZATION

I'm currently at mid point of my pre-concert routine for this Friday's show. Kind of like a caterpillar transforming into a butterfly (wow that sounds gay). I've had the 7-pack in the truck and listening to each in-order. Currently listening to FW and will probably need to double up on Thursday to get to ADKOT. I informed my wife and son that we will be listening to the entire current set list on our 2 1/2 hour drive to Nash-Vegas. They both rolled their eyes at me, but then gave a little smile. I wish I had the will power to go into silent mode like Pojo did, but that guy is from a different cosmic dimension. So I check the forum out for any current news regarding the latest show and hope I catch them on top of their game.

That's how I'm ROLLING- what's your routine for getting your Van Halen on?

My favorite part of the VH concert experience is meeting up before and after the show. The last 2 shows I did I went solo and met some really cool people, shared VH stories and had nothing but fun.

Yeah the meetups are great, I definitely would not have gone to Toronto or Greensboro without them. I still would have gone to Atlantic City just because it's close, but there's no question the night was a lot more fun because of the meetup. That Toronto 2007 meetup was absolutely insane, one of the most fun days of my life, and I hope that Cleveland can match or top it.

My normal pre-VH or pre-DLR show prep involves a serious cleansing of the mind and soul of all other music. Of course, that was wrecked today by the fact that I've had Spinal Tap's Big Bottom in my head all afternoon (but that's in a whole 'nother thread). Besides, Van Halen's music is as familiar to me as my last three girlfriends' phone numbers. So we cranked ADKOT on the way to the show. Normally there would be some pre-show beer drinking involved, but not tonite. The only thing missing was a meet up with some of the Roth Army regulars. Hopefully next time it'll happen!!

I have been on a 24 hour Van Halen-a-thon for the last week. Totally immersing myself in all things VH. Trying to call up my 15 year old alter ego, Pimply McNerdyson. Then, tomorrow, music blackout. Nuthin' until Kool and the Gang hit the stage.
