How to turn your neighborhood into VH freaks

Last Saturday night I had a party at my home. Once everyone was "liquor-pigged" I put on

VH Live in Baltimore DVD (2008) and started with Romeo Delight and SGMAD. Well, before you knew it

everyone was huddled around the flatscreen and neighbors were coming over to join the festivities.

Bottom Line: Many new friends, new VH fanatics and a full liquor cabinet.

Try it, it works!! This DVD still blows me away. In many ways better than this tour.

    Cheers

      VAIN, Thanks for the tip.

Is that the one where Dave wears the headset and strains his vocals?

I'll always be a Van Halen fan (Dave era), but it seems to me that Baltimore 2008 is the best for many reasons:

      1) They had no new album, so you got the best of the 6 pack
      2) Dave was so happy to be back, he gave a terrific performance.
      3) The band was so happy, smiling and they collectively were smokin hot!!!
      4) The camera work was pretty good from that far away.
      5) It's the only one I got

Please sanction a DVD of your best of 2007 and 2012, with bits of 1981 Oakland and then we'll discuss.

        1) I love the new album, and I am glad they are playing cuts off it. I wish they'd eliminate some of the so called staples, and play even more new stuff, as well as reach back for even more different old ones.
        2) Dave is still happy to be back. He is "home". Dave will always give a terrific performance, even if his voice can't or doesn't.
        3) I think they are happier now. Ed is sober, and shredding like crazy. The band has had 4 or 5 years to get even tighter.
        4) Yep
        5) There are more out there, get them! There are enough decent people here to hook you up. Just ask.

100% agree with you there. Even if they don't give some other deep cuts like LUTS the sunlight they deserve, I wish they'd at least do more new songs, particularly HBSD and As Is.

Yeah it's me. This is the username I use on just about every website I go to and I felt it was time to re-start here with a clean slate. So the "new" username.

Why do you keep calling me "not so young anymore Lou" anyway? Believe me I'm aware of that fact.

Because way back when, you were a young, wet behind the ears greenhorn, around these parts. Now you are an aging veteran.

You married yet? Kids? You can PM me if you want. I know you are kinda private about your "other" life.

Honey, you're still in my son's age group, you'll always be a "baby" in my eyes, lol.

No, Dave ditched the headset by March.

This one is in HD and shot from row 1, center.
I need to order more DL DVDs and we can start a tree. I can send one to a member on the left coast and one on the right and they send, the next people send, etc...

I wonder if I'm on this DVD, I was there about 4 or 5 rows back. Lou was at that gig too.

I haven't seen this tour in person yet but it seems in comparison to that show now Ed is much better, Wolfgang is better, no piped backing vocals and you get new songs plus some deeper cuts.

Only downside is that Dave's voice has maybe dipped a bit since 2008.

That assessment is exactly how I view this tour. Eddie's best playing of the 2007-08 tour was that final leg though (after being in rehab in Feb. and Mar. 2008) and you could see he was coming around to top form.

My seat was off to the left side maybe 10 rows up so it's highly unlikely I'll be on this one.

Thanks Nigel, just spotted the SM dancing to RWTD on the YouTube version, I'm going to have some fun with this...

When Dave was on the ramp we could have grabbed his leg.
