Being the next few shows are still on is a very good sign that "One Break, is Coming UP"!!

Dude, trust me on this - touring is not as easy as you think. For those 2-4 hours they're schlepping countless hours traveling, shuttling between time zones, airports, hotels and venues, in unfamiliar surroundings, and likely not sleeping regularly. It's rough, even for a headliner. Especially ones in their 50s. Maybe they do need a break. Better to take some time of then get ragged and start turning in shitty performances. Just sayin'.

Right on! Wouldn't it be great if it were just as simple as that? They want/need a break. Recharge and reconvene!Dude, trust me on this - touring is not as easy as you think. (CNN) -- Classic rockers Van Halen on Thursday abruptly postponed more than 30 tour dates, following their June 26 concert in New Orleans, representative Anna Loynes said.
No explanation was given, and there was no word on when the appearances might be made up.
Thirteen shows, including Saturday's concert in St. Paul, Minnesota, will go on as scheduled.
The band is on tour in support of its new album "A Different Kind of Truth" -- the first complete album with original lead singer David Lee Roth since the platinum-selling "1984," which was released on the last day of 1983.
Van Halen, which formed in 1974, has a turbulent history.
Roth left the band in 1985 after a falling-out with guitarist/founder Eddie Van Halen and was replaced by vocalist Sammy Hagar, who was with the band until 1996. Former Extreme vocalist Gary Cherone joined the band for 1998's Van Halen III -- the worst-selling album of the band's career.
At different times, Eddie Van Halen has undergone treatment for alocoholism and cancer.
The band was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2007 and later that year announced a reunion tour with Roth again fronting the band. The band also has replaced original bassist Michael Anthony with Van Halen's son, Wolfgang. Several shows during the 2007-2008 tour were also postponed, but ultimately rescheduled.
According to the Recording Industry Association of America, Van Halen has sold more than 56 million albums.
Van Halen forums on the web lit up with the news, with some fretting the shows would never happen.
"This isn't good," said one fan who goes by the handle bsbll4 on vhlinks.com, which bills itself as "Your Van Halen Internet resource guide."
ED-A-HOLIC posted, "there is a BIG difference between CANCELLED and POSTPONED, I just hope it's not Eddie having to battle against Cancer again."
CNN's Denise Quan contributed to this report.

Well, I just read all 9 pages of this. I'm going to go with exhaustion. Old age is a bitch. Shit i'm exhuasted just reading the speculation. Glad i'm off work today....I need a nap.Comment

Exhaustion isn't a valid criteria for the tour underwriters... if that were the case they would have known about it as the date for the Green Bay show was just confirmed on the official site this week. Then postponed 4 days later.
All that has gone on is they had a few days break after the show on the 13th, did the SAP Corp private show the 16th and resume tomorrow night in St Paul. Enough time for a doctor's visit... but I suspect whatever is a-foot has been brewing for some time and reached a critical decision point this week among the promoters and underwriters.."If you want to be a monk... you gotta cook a lot of rice...”Comment

Sorta reminds me of that episode from the 1st season of "The Osbournes" ---- Sharon and Ozzy are planning for a tour and Ozz takes a look at an updated list of gigs and says --- "What the FUCK, Sharon? You cant just add in these places without telling me about it first. Stop being so greedy!"
Perhaps Irving Azoff is a version of money-grubbin' Sharon with a wrinkly old dick between his legs ---- adding a bunch of tour dates without first consulting with the band ---- and they got pissed and decided to retaliate with a planned strike in July.

Dudes, rumours will swirl until we hear an announcement, but there are nonetheless tidbits of circumstantial evidence more plausible than the fighting bullshit, or almost anything else.
Let's look at what is out there, factually-speaking, surrounding the Van Halen entourage in the timeframe covered by the postponed dates.
The only public facts re- Late June, July / August are per my earlier post, which I repeat here.
Namely ... Alex's kid is in the US Olympic trials, June 22 and 25 for 300 Steeplechase.
The kid, just a few weeks ago, broke his personal record time and ran the sixth fastest time in his event THIS VERY YEAR, which means he could very well be selected for the US Olympics team, and to compete in the Games which take place in London in August.
To me, that is a big deal, and it is a recent event that has put the kid in the frame for the Olympics.
Put yourself in that kid's father's shoes ... Four months ago this turn of events might not have been predicted. But you are on tour, it's late April and ... lo and behold your kid runs a blinder in some pre-Olympic trial event to put himself in contention for a once-in-a-lifetime kind of experience.
You are wealthy; you have a job that allows you to be able to afford to drop other things and possibly go and see your son in the Olympics, rather than watch it in some hotel room on tour. Two-thirds of your band are close family of the budding Olympian, and they'd love to see him compete, too.
And, because of the nature of your work you can use it as an opportunity to combine work and family - postpone your impending US dates, swing thru Europe, and if the kid makes it to the Olympics ... you are already there ...THINK LIKE THE WAVESComment

Nope. If that was the case they would only need to reschedule a few dates, not 32 shows.
