I have never read or heard of this article and would love to see a scan of it. Mike must have left home without his 'class act' persona that day.

If thats the GUITAR WORLD VAN HALEN SPECIAL.....all it is is reprinted interviews......
Hot Sauce did quite the hatchet job on DAVE back in 1985 & 1986..............
I didnt buy the issue cuz I HAVE those old mags......and have no need to reread that SHITE againComment

yeah, i have an older VH special they did which included a few song tabs.
the only thing that shits me is they feel compelled to cover the cheese years...Comment

It might have been intended for Hagar but it still kicks ass. There's no Hagar song that matches the fire that Eddie was playing with in that one, or for that matter how furiously Al plays the drums. Amazing how Roth has that effect.Comment

I've had that magazine lying around the house for a couple of weeks now and had not got around to looking at it, so I checked it out last night before I went to sleep. It is as everyone says, thoroughly negative towards Dave. In the end it makes Anthony look bad and nobody else . But more than that it kind of struck a chord with me. Having gone through a couple of divorces, it reminds me of the sort of things you might say about someone when the wounds are fresh and emotions are still running high. Later, you calm down, you take a few years to think and you grow up some and you start to hopefully get a new outlook on things. Hopefully his recent statements regarding playing with Van Halen reflect him growing as a person."Don't want 'em to get you goat, don't show 'em where it's hid." - David Lee RothComment

I'd like proof that MA said those things...
I find it hard to believe that comments like that flew under all of our radar for all those years...
And Sesh, you're full of shit vodka...
Are you saying that Tattoo is better than CGTSNM and MWM ??
This VH history rewrite is bullshit and it needs to stop...

Ed and Al were just as guilty as Mike for slinging shit at Dave after he left the band. No, they may not have come right out and said it like Mike did in this interview but dammit they said most of the same things!!! Remember Ed's drunken interview where he laid into Dave for Dave's "ego trip"??? And this was before Dave left the band!! These guys - Ed, Al and Mike, all of them, they hated Dave for years, decades!!! No wonder Dave kept to himself on the last tour (according to Ed's recent interview). Yes, I'm glad that they "seem" to be getting along. Yes, I'm glad that they cut a new record. But it's only gonna take one thing going wrong and you're going to see the same shit slinging from Ed and Al that we saw before.
I'm not trying to change the subject, but if things go south - and I hope to God they don't - you'll see them crucify Dave and it'll be worse than anything any of us has seen before.American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.

And this is why I still look at the two of them as the enemy. Well, maybe not the enemy but at least two dudes to be suspicious of. Look, they took fatty in and told the world that that version was the "real" version of VH. Then they took the fairy in and told the world that that was the best version of VH - never mind Gary's Dance Of The Flaming Assholes. I don't trust 'em and no matter how many times they hug onstage I'll never fully buy into it. I'm not saying that I don't appreciate the new music or the new tour - I DO. But I have the feeling that Ed, Al and Wolfie are looking to the day when Wolf can sing all the songs, create the songlists, design the stage, come up with a new logo and generally try to rip us all off. And I will be the only guy shelling out money for the Dave solo tour - and that's just fine by me.American by birth. Southern by the grace of God.
