I dont blame 'em ---- Dave sounds just like the album in these clips!

      He's AMAZING.

Also I think if a band strikes it rich, yeah all the members should share but not in equal parts if they're not equal contributors. Dave and Ed were the creative genius and should have gotten the lion's share. The only problem with that is EVH wouldn't be comfortable making more than his brother so I can see how it's just easier to split it equally four ways. But absent a situation like that, the most talented people in the band should get the most money. This is why some "bands" I suppose are really just one or two people plus touring musicians.
The problem with your theory is that how or even who will be the one to determine which ones have the most talent? Who decides that? What if the other two disagreed? You also seem to forget that Alex didn't write a damn thing either, yet he always get a free pass because of his last name. Funny how people always gloss over that.

When they were first starting out, none of them had a clue yet as to how to do things within the music industry. I assume their attitude was "All for one and one for all." They divided it up four equal ways and that was that.

I'd say that EVH is making up for any lost money by hawking these tour guitars for a second time around. I personally think that's appalling, that his starting prices are $5,150 and go up from there for a guitar that he didn't build, or have any real input to. He merely played one in concert for a number or two, maybe three, signed it and that was it. His sales make him appear very greedy. Especially when these are "boutique" guitars that only the rich or a serious guitar collector can afford. All they'll ever do is hang on somebody's wall at best. You can't take those anywhere to perform with. If there was some mention that perhaps he was giving the proceeds to a favorite charity, then I might feel differently about this, but so far, there has been none to my knowledge.

Actually this is his third tour with the EVH Art Series guitars. He started this in 2004 and continued in 2007/8.

Eddie does actually do all the design taping and designates the color schemes and if they are the pick-guard model or not. He gets a case of blank bodies before the tour and does all the tap up and design himself. He then ships them back to Fender/Charvel and their production crew does the painting, finishing and final assembly. Ed's tech sets them up prior to the show and Ed plays/signs one each stop.

I haven't followed the auctions that closely but this tour it looks like none have gone for over $10,000 so far. The past 2 tours none went for less than $10K, especially the Vegas and LA shows. It's the sign of the economy I believe. Yeah they are really collector guitars... more a piece of EVH art, but they are functional axes none the less.

I've seen a few from the 04 & 07/8 tour up for resale at ridiculous prices $15-20k... Have yet to see any get a single bid. You'd be better off buying an old Gibson LP or Fender Strat if you were looking at investment income down the road...

I think Ed and Al want Wolfie to carry on the Van Halen band when they decide to hang it up and retire. That's what I see happening. Wolf will take over Van Halen and keep it going for another generation and by the musical taste and ability it probably will be a good band.

I seriously hope that doesn't happen. Totally pointless. He's needed to go out into the world and make his own stand for some time now. They need to put the brand name to bed someday.

Well, I knew about the first Charvel Art series that were costing about $25,000, but don't recall those on eBay. It was a set price and I guess sold through EVH Gear weren't they? I don't remember any '04 tour guitars being sold, just from the last two DLR tours.

I think that would be great. Would that be the first time a band goes thru 2 generations ?

My tickets in the mail yet?

Uhh --- methinks some of you are taking this Wolfie worship a little too far.

Has Wolf composed even a single line of original music yet? I didnt hear anything to that effect from the Esquire interviews. Leading sound checks and picking the set list isn't that big of an accomplishment for a 21-yr. old musician prodigy, is it ??

To me --- Wolfie is a great technical player, but there are a ton of great technical players honing their chops in bedrooms and basements. Just watch YouTube for proof.

Wolf seems like a typical kid with some natural talent but nothing more. Look at his Twitter page and it's full of stuff about hanging with his chick and watching hockey. I'd be flabbergasted if he actually posted a Tweet about him composing an original song during one of his off days. His father did that many, many times and made it look easy. Have yet to see that kind of initiative from the "Chosen One".

They'll have to hurry if they want to beat Nick Simmons and Evan Stanley.

We all know now that Eddie is only putting up with this version of Van Halen because it allows him to play music with his son Wolfie. Valerie has said this. Its the truth whether we as fans like it or not.

But I think I have figured out a doable way to appease us (original lineup)fans by getting Mikey back in the band while still keeping Wolfie to keep Eddie happy.

Why not just move Wolfie over to a backup guitar role playing all of the overdubbed parts that are on the records that Eddie could never play live by himself???

We'd have Mikey right back where he belongs and Wolfie standing right next to his dad ADDING to the live music.

A Win-Win in my book & MY two cents.

                          -Don
no need for him......like Wolf better....cheers

Hey psycho, please get out of my Van Halen T-shirt before you jinx the band and they break up.

Only way Mike gets back in is if Wolf wants it..He knew the fans wanted Roth back..it happened. I could easily see him talking pops into at least 1 last show with MA..

Evan Stanley. The fireworks start about two minutes in:
