    I meant The Knack....

Mistakes like this are why I don't post much. I should just leave the snide remakes to the experts.

Alex is right though. Some bands go on stage and do their job and nothing more.

The worst concert I have ever been to was Whitesnake couple of years ago. Whitesnake did everything correctly, it was good, but you could see on them that they were doing their job and couldn't wait to get off the stage and get it over with. It was really done by a rutine and all they did was Doug Aldrich and Coverdale made poses for the photographers the whole time.

The whole show was like watching construction builders build a wall.
That part of the interview when they are discussing audience/band interaction reminds me of the 1980 Interview w/ Jim Ladd (which I hope Sarge will put back on the site) where Dave is talking about this very subject.

Dave: "A lot of bands wait for the audience to give a spark and they recycle that energy which is a great circle, that's what it's about...gettin it going. But I ain't waitin' for no spark man! I'm lighting up
      first. I am the cheerleader!"

There's another one like that, I think it was on MTV's Lost Weekend with DLR back around Memorial Day weekend 1985, where he says something like "A lot of bands wait for the audience to give a spark and they recycle that energy. That's where I come in; I bring a flamethrower. I have the new Junior Miss Flamethrower with easy long-throw attachment!"
