I was on Morphine for 2 weeks when I had my gut worked on.

I suggest you do more research. I have known people that had emergency surgery for the same thing. However, a better term would be "leak", as they don't actually go boom. Happens all the time, especially to Chron's patients.

I bet he has a colostomy bag and will for some time. I was on a pic line for two weeks last year with diverticulitis and if that hadn't worked they were going to operate on me. The doctor explained all about the bag and I was very thankful it didn't come to that. On the other hand they did say that no further surgeries will be needed for Eddie, and I believe it's a surgical procedure to remove the bag and put the colon back together.

I had a gastroscopy done like a year ago, and in the middle of it, I started thinking "I wonder if they use the same camera and same tube for colonoscopies". Those thoughts made everything much worse.

There are no explosions..holes, self inlicted perforations, burst puss pockets sure why not, yes and 500 other non-doctor opinions thru wikki brain,.. we are talking about the colon right..or are you going to mention a burst blood vessel in the brain and tell me that I need to do more research about the colon exploding ,and that I am wrong ?

Partial or full colon resections happen all the time...I cannot remember the medical term.

It is easy to live without the large intestine or colon since it mainly deals with water and large waste the small intestine removes all the nutrients from you food, for survival, that is a important , non survival operation..not for long anyway.

Many people who cannot be cured thru 500 other ways, opt for the colon removal or the partial of the dead areas. To get on with their lives.

We could go on for hours and hours and hours...still no exploding colons to be found.
