Reasons why Van Halen w/ Roth could still work

There are many reasons that a Roth reunion "right now"(get the pun)would blow the shit out of anything Hagar did.
#1)Listen to the albums. Listen to Roth Van Halen, listen to all the cd's you have. Then download some Hagar songs and compare. Also compare Eat Em' and Smile to 5150. Listen to how the tone in Eat em' and Smile is consistent with the old Van Halen sound as compared to Hagar's version.
    2) Listen to Can't Get This Stuff No More and Me Wise Magic. These songs were written 10 Years after Van Halen broke up. Tell me these aren' t the greatest songs you've heard from VH since they've been with Spammy.
So you people that say Roth can't sing no more, buy DLR Band. Say he and Van Halen couldn't write good music together anymore, listen to CGTSNM and MWM. MORE MORE BULLSHIT SHEEP!

There are two reasons a roth reunion wont work right now:

    1. Dave is doing something meaningful with his life "right now" like getting an EMT certification so he can volunteer one weekend a month...

    2. "right now" Eddie can't play the freakin guitar....

When Ed's guitar and Dave's voice mesh it's like peanut butter and chocalate. You can't beat that.

Really dunno about it being able to work at this point.

MWM and CGTSNM were a great opening to what could have been a new chapter for classic Van Halen........

........the friction the classic lineup had back in the day worked to their advantage, but just seems like too much ego on the part of everyone just makes it impossible for them to get it together.

Ed doesn't seem to be able to take direction anymore. Too intent on producing the band and having complete control. And you know Dave's not gonna come back in without expecting his input to be taken just as seriously as Ed's, and that won't happen if it's done in Ed's studio with Ed producing.

If Ed and Dave sat in a room together in a neutral location, worked some tunes out, then rehearsed with the band and got an outside producer everyone agreed on.......guess the point is it shouldn't be done at 5150, and Ed shouldn't have anything to do with the production, because that studio produced some shitty sounding records, with Van Halen 3, the one where Ed had the most production control, being the absolute worst SOUNDING one of the bunch since Roth left.

            1. Everybody likes a band with balls. (Van Halen)
            2. Nobody likes a band of dicks. (Van Hagar)

For better or worse, it would be one of the most notorious things to happen to popular music since Courtney Love killed Kurt Cobain.

If ed had the balls to tour with Dave next year,
the attendance numbers would speak for themselves.
The original lineup would crush this summer's carnival tour.

Too bad Van Halen aren't hurting from the band sales. It's the promoters that are apparently suffering from the losses. But, of course, one major reason VH will get Dave back is if they want to tour again, they need Dave. Because promoters are probably saying one thing right now: "Once bitten..."

Except his last 3 studio CDs and his reunions with VH in 1996 and 2000. Other than that yes, everything works when Dave's around.

First of all DLRBand was 6 years ago AND anyone can sound great in the studio when the producer is piecing together the best parts of all the vocal performances. Singing LIVE and singing in the studio are two vastly different arenas.

                          AND

MWM & CGTSNM are no where near as good as Humans Being OR Without You

You could also factor in Ted Templeman also. When Dave left Ted went with him also. That's why there was a major change in VH's sound on 5150. To me Ted Templeman was the 5th member of Van Halen, so when Dave left VH lost 2 members in my opinion.

If you want to hear what Van Halen SHOULD sound like today, just check Dave's (or Cato's?) Japan 2004 bootleg on this site. Great, great, great. Way better than the DLR band record. On that album he sung like his balls were being bitten by piranhas (kind of like Sammy, actually). I was glad to hear the Japan recording and find out Dave can still beat them all.
