Good to know that Ted Templeman didn't want to work like Ed and Don Landee did. I guess he wanted to actually get shit done!
As you can tell it's indicated by his right hand, this is the beginning of Edward Van Heinekin!
No more fucking balls to the wall rock n' roll....
He now discovered the TRUE meaning of music.... lame synthesizers and cheesy ballads...
Sammy Hagar was the perfect puppet for this brand of horrible music...

Ed always said he didn't like doing interviews. I could see his point. People paid him money to show up and play his guitar and paid to listen to recordings of him playing his guitar. Why do the interviews? People knew who he was and what he could do.

Laughed at his reaction when Val says, 'Dave's record is doing really well, isn't it'.

'Yeah, yeah'. Grabs bottle. Slugs beer.

Definitely a sore point that Dave's record DID WELL! Gotta remember that even though Crazy From the Heat was an EP, it charted high on the Top 200 Albums, sold a million pretty quickly, and at the same time Dave was Top 5 in the Hot 100 Singles ... and on the cover of Rolling Stone , which VH never were to that point, and all over MTV. Dave was sailing high. I can forgive Ed if he was a bit freaked out, 'cos maybe he was thinking that it was maybe true - maybe Dave was the real star.

But, really, I think that more than all that he is just a shy guy who never liked doing interviews, and maybe it was because he gave too much away - either through not being able to shuck'n'jive, or through his body language, and looking evasive.

P.S. He looks about 16 years old in that clip, with the haircut.

If Ed fired Dave because he was a solo artist.... they why did Ed play bass on Sammy's solo album in 1987 "Never say goodbye"???

Martha Quinn. I don't know why but I kind of had a thing for her. Actually, I think Dave kind of had a thing for her too. "Oh Martha!"

Hagar negotiated a deal with his old label in which he had to do another solo album to get out of his contract and sign with WB...
