He said that??? Ooohhh!!! EVH can't be a frontman. He has personality and charisma of a dead fish. A beige dead fish. God he gets on my nerves.

      P.S. I haven't seen the interview yet.

He always said he hated interviews so he wasn't in his element, like in this tune .

My all time favorite ending jam. I'd pay...$100 for a version that extends another 30 seconds longer. Ed & Al were far from running outta gas when that fade ends on record.

The original demo version with the horn blows this one away. They ruined it if you ask me. But I don't think you were. lol.

I liked how the horn laced throughout the song worked as a nice gazinta (goes into) for RWTD on the demo. Other than that, didn't like it as much. Does Dave say go button up your coat in the beginning? What in the fuck was he talkin' about? Bella Lagosi inspired lyrics. Just plain odd.

Was blasting this tune (84 version) in the pod on the train home. Get's me movin! I think people were looking at me funny. F'em. I always wondered why they chose to have the lead vocal be so burried in the mix on this one. Lots o' reverb too. I'd like to hear a remixing with the vocals out in front where they belong.

You can tell by his reaction Dave is on his way out.
Yeah love this interview. Ed is so smug and slimy.
"Ted is no longer with us..." he says so defiant and proud.
"He didn't want to work like me and Donn"

                    Then ...
"are you asking if the band is breaking up? well I know I'm not going anywhere..."

and yeah he looks at Val for every answer.

I always liked that aspect of the tune - makes it kind of mysterious and fits the dark vibe of the song. That was the genius of Templeman that Ed would never find again until they worked with John Shanks (on D-Ro's recommendation).

I s'pose you're right. I like the ominous tone of it all, too. It's just that Dave is clearly belting it out here. Singing with a nice, angry bluesy bellow. Just needs a pinch more volume is all.

Yeah that's a great one ! It would have worked much better live than the album version.

However, the false harmonic scream in the solo of the studio version was still another guitar innovation. There was always one of two of them in the early albums.
