On the Comcast homepage (www.comcast.net), there's a blurb about today's "Best of Both Worlds" Van Halen greatest hits release. Guess whose picture they're using to represent the band? The mighty David Lee Roth himself. It's a classic, black and white AP photo. If a picture is indeed worth a thousand words, this one speaks volumes. It just goes to show when the general public hears the words Van Halen, the immediate thoughts are unprecidented party rock, the guitar majesty of Edward Van Halen, and the flamboyant presence of Diamond Dave.

agree with about half of the stuff on the Blender page. Id switch 5150 and VH2...just never was a fan of VH2...although there are some great songs on there. Also would have F.U.C.K. higher and even push BOV1 down a notch..especially since they dog the new DLR tracks on there.Comment

Dave named the band, opened the backyard gates, and turned beer
bars into user names.
"David Lee Roth" became a member of the band. "Diamond Dave"
guided the band to legendary status armed with arguably the most
most dynamic, sonic, napalm in the morning guitar player on record.
If you prefer the van hagar product, you have one person to thank.
DAVID LEE ROTH.
The immense success of classic VAN HALEN afforded the existence
of the aforementioned product. I'm not discounting in any way Ed's
part.
The brothers are musicians, "Diamond Dave" is an entertainer.
To this day, Dave's over-the-top showmanship is either loved or
hated.
Make no mistake, that bit of conflict enabled the "dumbing down"
and rebirth of a "product" that would have never existed without it.
Check the weather y'all, it's gettin' stormy.Comment
