I got it in the mail already....cool packaging. I like how the tunes are flip-flopped...dave/sammy/dave/sammy....and the new tunes sound way better on it than the Mp3's. Peace.

my wife stopped by the store this evening to pick up some dinner for the family and while shopping, she saw the cd and thought "I don't think he's got that one..." so, she picked one up for me.

needless to say, (much to my dismay), I was curious, so I opened it up. the packaging, IMHO, is actually WORSE than the first "BEST OF"...
not ONE FUCKIN' SINGLE PIC OF DAVE ANYWHERE!!!

oh, but they the audacity to show that scumbag Hagar right up in front??? what the fuck? have they no shame? why not have hagar jus recut all the vocals on the classic tunes and include them on this shit cd? it's apparent to me that's exactly what Ed and co. really want.

I've had it w/ this band and I really jus don't give a shit anymore. I mean, c'mon, are they that clueless and envious of ROTH? this set is supposed to be a retrospective of the band's whole career and yet, they ignore their unbeatable original singer???

It's a cool CD. I think the Hagar era could have been represented better, but then again, the same goes for the Dave era.

Where's "Meanstreet"?

Where's "Summer Nights"?

But alas, I cannot blame the band past or present for the song selection. That was strictly on behalf of Warner Bros / Rhino Records.

Sales estimates from Hits magazine is 200k for first week...but that is a voodoo mix of past sales, current product orders and daily sales tracking. I think it will be lucky to do 100k

I only bought BOV1 for the Dave stuff.

I will gladly buy a VanHalen CD when VanHalen actually reunites.
