Let's hope this version of Dave returns for the 2013 Japan/Australia Tour

Dude, spot on. The 2007 tour in San Diego DTNA was my fav tune of the night. Dave was beyond perfect. Best part is when he does his schtick in the middle & the crowd all sings DANCE DANCE DANCE THE NIGHT AWAY!!
I'd be lying if I said I didn't well up when I was at the show.
“Great losses often bring only a numb shock. To truly plunge a victim into misery, you must overwhelm him with many small sufferings.” -
All we can hope for is that EVH and AVH have a sit-down with Dave before the tour starts and tell him to get back to that '08 form --- the higher register shit can not rear it's ugly head again.
Hopefully, the taped on dance floor will be a relic of the 2012 tour and not make an encore appearance, either.Comment

Originally posted by fourthcomingDave was brilliant on the 07-08 tour. He had his moments good and bad on the 2012 tour but he was incredible at MSG...especially on 3/1.
The opening of the 3/1 MSG show was one of the true highlights of last year --- when EVH launches the intro for "Unchained" that whole place was jizzin'

Amen!
Dave has attempted to "expand" his range twice in his career now with forced excursions into the head voice - once in 94 and now again in 2012 - with disastrous results for his performance and damaging results for his vocal chords during the tour. I can see the reasoning behind it in DLR's opinion - let's build the chords, have an increased vocal range etc. This technique may be fun for in the studio time when you have an hour between songs to rest, but for live shows it just results in him trying to force out too many high notes, wear out the pipes, and stress his voice to the point of DAMAGE - you can hear it in his voice when he SPOKE post tour.
DLR is a BARITONE and I agree the brothers need to shake sense into him to sing in chest voice in baritone range during live shows. Going into the head voice should be reserved for the end of a show for certain notes only otherwise his voice will not last an entire show let alone a whole tour.Comment

I'm not a mid-40's MILF that goes to a VH show --- but I have a gut feeling that ladies want to see a bare-chested Dave just throwing all the passion into the singing --- not shimmying across a taped dance mat in a blue lame shirt and barking into a headset.
Keep it simple and sexy for the femmes, Mr. Roth!
