I absolutely love this album. My girlfriend actually heard me when I was bummed out about how my copy had a skip during Ed's solo on 'Feel Your Love Tonight", so as a Valentine present. she had a copy sent to me.
I have no idea where she found it, but she found one of the original pressings of this album (the original Warner Brothers palm tree label copy). I'm all about the vinyl revolution, and have rediscovered my love for this band as a result.
She texts me later that afternoon.."Did you get it in the mail?" & "look under the bar". Along with a mint-condition copy of this badass abum, there was an awesome bag of weed under the bar at my house (with purple and red hairs sprouting from the buds in the bag).

It moved me to tears.....this woman GETS me!!

When we both arrived home from work that evening, I tore her panties off with my teeth!! I couldn't wait to feel her love tonight!

It's just one of the greatest albums I've ever heard, and it will always be one of the greatest albums I've ever heard.

Even if you're having a total shit day, it puts you back on track and gives you all the attitude you'll need to get you through the next one.

That album is just one big sonic party!!

    Halle-fuckin'-lujah!

When you have owned every format this gem was released on, it is quite obvious the impact it had on you. I don't recall having any Motley Crue's or Dokken's debut's on album, cassette and cd. As far as Van Halen 1

I had it on album, cassette, 8-track, CD and as a kid transferred it on to a reel to reel tape just to make it sound fatter.

That's funny. It is too bad that one can't help but think of Van Hahgar when you see the rings logo. If Dave had never left the band and the logo switched from wings to rings, I'd probably say that's pretty cool looking. Damn those VHgar years.

It's a brilliant story. Wasn't it that some techie who work concerts in London died young, and his father discovered these cassettes among his stuff? I wish we could find more of this. There's still the rumor that Van Halen's 1984 performance at Buffalo's old Memorial Auditorium was taped using a camera mounted in one of the boxes to cover Sabres games...

I actually know the guy who directed Sabres' games as well as Hockey Night in Canada games during the 1980's and early 90's. He didn't know anything about it and thought it unlikely...
