    Music's Top 40 Money Makers 2013

From Billboard, here's the Top 10 of the Top 40 money makers - compiled 2013, but clearly referring to earnings in 2012:

    01: Madonna - $34,577,308.62

    02: Bruce Springsteen - $33,443,606.64

    03: Roger Waters - $21,160,131.06

    04: Van Halen - $20,184,709.91

Its tour may have ended sooner than expected, with 32 of its shows ultimately canceled due to "exhaustion," but Van Halen nevertheless kicked a little tail on the road in 2012. Van Halen toured in support of A Different Kind of Truth, its first album with David Lee Roth since 1984. More than a half-million fans turned out, and the tour grossed $54 million from just 46 shows, with accompanying merch sales said to be huge. Driven by the album's reception, Van Halen moved 621,614 physical units and 213,524 digital albums in the United States, spiking non-touring earnings of an estimated $1.2 million for the band. The popularity of Van Halen's classic catalog and the group's willingness to tap into its older musical legacy is evidenced by an estimated $2.2 million in synch royalties.

    05: Kenny Chesney - $19,148,525.24

    06: Dave Matthews Band - $18,903,334.14

    07: Tim McGraw - $18,329,167.89

    08: Jason Aldean - $17,578,651.96

    09: Coldplay - $17,300,144.34

    10 Justin Bieber - $15,944,293.10

    ----------------------------------------------

So, I guess they sold a lot of the back catalog as well as the near-Gold sales of ADKOT???

Madonna had the highest 2012 tour gross ($228.4 million) --- but she only earned $34.5 million from that (around 15%) ???

VH earned 37% of their 2012 tour gross.

Methinks Madonna needs to fire a few dancers --- her overhead is fucking her up the ass!

Methinks a young and way too eager Madonna made a couple of bad deals back in the day...
Why settle for something you have, if it's not as good as something you're out to get?

Well, I suppose it's over all good news for the list that 8 out of 10 actually play instruments....even though half of them are country and one of them is ColdGhey.

I believe she signed one of those notorious "360 deals" with LiveNation a few years back --- seems like they know how to fuck over artists more than record labels did.

Oddly enough --- the 360 deal she signed with LiveNation in 2007 guaranteed her 90% of concert revenue --- do I smell a huge lawsuit brewing?

They should change their name to FuckedNation. That would be more appropriate for their shady deals and the lack luster so called talent they promote.
