No rating on podcasts, either.Writing In All Proper Case Takes Extra Time, Is Confusing To Read, And Is Completely Pointless.Comment

We learned about Dave's parents and why they divorced and I never heard him talk about that topic before, and we also got more insight into the failed radio gig --- but the Carolla rambling in the second half was just another boring radio douche who likes to hear himself talk.Comment

This is the first Roth interview I ever fell asleep while listening to it.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

This Carolla guy could have turned in a decent interview, but once he started with the banal, "who's a bigger nut job, Axl or Eddie?" type shit, he blew it. He also has the arrogant tendency to make all of his questions set ups for talking about himself. Yay, I'm so glad I got to hear Dave listen to Adam explain why he wanted kids.Comment

I knew a doctor that had a voice like Adam Carollas. Could you imagine hearing the snap of rubber gloves and then that voice telling you to drop trunks and bend over the examination table?
Actually the last part of the interview was much like that.Last edited by Nitro Express; 03-05-2013, 01:57 PM.No! You can't have the keys to the wine cellar!Comment

I once had a dentist who would start spouting off his right-wing political views after he had his grubby paws and the drill in my mouth. The douchebag made an already miserable experience even worse with his shitty thoughts being directed at a person who couldnt talk back to him. Where do they find these creeps?Comment

The format is half interview and then they go on to talk among themselves about the news or whatever. They asked Dave to stay on to comment for the second half which often they don't do.
I don't know about ratings but he does regularly get pretty reasonable guests comics and actors maybe B+ level celebs.
I only listen when it's someone I know so that's about one in eight.Comment

I've always got the impression that Corolla was doing pretty well with the podcast thing which is why Dave will have gone there to sell the Roth Show.
I had a quick look and

During the past two years, while the radio industry has obsessed over formats and a flawed ratings system that often fails to accurately gauge audience numbers or demographics, podcasts of the comedic variety have flourished. Adam Carolla and Marc Maron lead the pack, following the pioneering path cleared by Kevin Smith, Ricky Gervais and Jimmy Pardo.
The numbers tell the story: Carolla, who bid farewell to 15 markets when his syndicated CBS Radio morning show was canceled in 2009, has amassed an audience 10 times as big with his daily podcast. The Adam Carolla Show has logged more than 50 million downloads in a year; Maron's twice-weekly WTF is at 20 million and counting. Both are offered for free, while archived episodes (like Maron's intense 2010 interview with Robin Williams) cost $1.99 at iTunes (no money changes hands between the programs and Apple, but server space is the responsibility of show producers and can get pricey at about $10,000 a month). Cash starts flowing when listenership hits certain benchmarks and advertisers come calling, which, according to Carolla, they have -- big time.Comment
