You usually do press before you go out. Dave is probably making the rounds because he got the ok to do it from the band and you have to remember neither Alex or Eddie like to do interviews.

This is true. I was actually surprised at the amount of press Eddie did for this most recent tour, and what the band did together (the unplugged videos and such). I don't remember a lot of press in 2007, apart from the initial Rolling Stone article, which was quickly followed by the tour being postponed for 6 months while Ed got his shit together, and then a press conference to kick off the tour once it resumed.

Dave's talking, Wolf is talking, and Alex is talking to Dave. Hell, that's three out of 4. And I doubt Ed quit the band.
