        That makes alot of sense

Stop comparing DLR era VH to SH VH when using that logic.

We have long acknowledged that the sales of VHIII
were the bands low point. This is doing worse, but you
are saying its not bad ???

For a band that owns the Van Halen brand name, 310,000 is FUCKING PATHETIC! I don't care what spin the sheep put on this, BOBW is a commercial DISASTER, and even more importantly an artistic CATASTROPHE!

I'm saying that it doesn't seem to be doing bad for a greatest hits album from a band that was in hiatus for so long. It will drop off steadily now I believe and hover right along with VH III.

But, eventually it will pass VHIII sales. Eventually.

I would have thought their long hiatus would have built up an enormous level of expectation and excitement for this release. Not so.

I don't think it will surpass VHIII. Its already done most of its business in the US, while the Europeans seem to be rejecting it, and it could only debut at number 39 in Australia.

For a band that has released the songs time and time again, with three "pathetic attempts at new songs" that will be skipped more than played, I don't think Van Hagar is unhappy with the results.

Ims2, I would argue the opposite. Since mostly sheep bought it, they are probably praising the new tunes and Sammy "interpretations" of the DLR tunes. I would assume they would listen to the DLR stuff less, since their leader has told them those tunes were just warmups.

Since no self-respecting VH fan owns a copy, who knows.

What is sad (and yea, you COULD make an argument that it is a double disc, and most of it was already released etc..) is that BOV1 sold about 2/3 the amount of what best of both worlds has sold altogether in the FIRST WEEK...223,000 somewhere in that area.

Well, my point is sort of the opposite. Van Hagar haters say that Hagar is what ruins Dave image and what he did for Van Halen as well as what keeps him out of Van Halen. Rothites get angry that Van Hagar uses Dave's music to sell their CD's, I say including Dave's music to sell CD's helps keep DLR's image alive. Sheep may buy the CD's for the three new tunes, but the classics become their favorites. Why do you think this army is so big?

Maybe I have gotten off topic?

Dave's music is on there. I hope it sells well. The proof is not in what song the album is bought for, but what it is remembered for. The more people that hear the classics, the more people are gonna like the classics. Supply and demand. Supply the sheep/new fans with the classics, they will continue to demand the original VH.

                              Besides, Dave's getting paid.
