What is going on with all this almost daily negative Van Halen press? Why is Clear Channel again contributing to the negative press problems, when they are promoting the 2004 Van Halen Tour? I think something is going on here.
I wonder if there is some clause in CCC’s - Van Halen Tour contract, regarding their massive guaranteed per concert residual that is killing them financially, that they are trying to “trigger out of” because of Eddie’s conduct or something. I’m not trying to start rumors or spread falsehoods, but this is all very strange.
This is the second time recently that CCC has released, U.S. system wide, a negative press article on Eddie Van Halen. The last time was on Eddie’s drunken Boston fiasco, and they released it right before publishing a press release on David Lee Roth performing in Boston, July 4th; again system wide, per below. Many of CCC’s U.S. radio stations had both the Drunk Eddie and the Diamond Dave “To Perform To a ½ million” press coverage on their home webpage (or in their Music News section) at the same time! This seems dumb to me?
Obviously, it doesn’t help Van Halen ticket sales doing something like this, does it? What am I missing here?
