I remember the day that 5150 was released. The Rolling Stones album "Dirty Work" was released the exact same day.

Prior to that, any day that the Stones and VH both released a record at the same time should have been declared a national goddamned holiday.

But in this case, BOTH were such collossal disappointments.

At least the Stones recovered in time (after a well publicized soap opera played out in the press for 3 years) but Van Hagar only got worse. And Van Halen wouldn't be Van Halen again for another 20 years (aside for those two songs in 1996)

Let's play a game. It's called "Say something nice about Dirty Work."

        My answer:

Who is this Van Hslen you speak of?

But I'll just run along, 'cause I have every album. Emphasis: Every. (Although, as compensation, I did buy the Classic 6 thrice. CD, Remasters & Vinyl.)

And here's my parting shot. My fav from "VHIII".

                  Salut, enfoiré & drogué.

If that was your first concert there's nowhere to go but downhill because it doesn't get any better. Classic double edge sword scenario.

I bought 5150. Did not like it. I immediately switched to DLR. I got OU812 secondhand, just to prove to myself that it sucks. I saw Van Hagar on the monsters of rock tour. That part of the show sucked.

I don't even know what songs are on any Hagar album. Never listened to one, never plan to.

This was probably Van Hagar's best song.....
