if the sound is so bad, why dont they?

i saw the opening night show in greensboro, nc. i was not pleased with the overall sound. i sat on the 19th row near the sound board. i thought to myself maybe it was a opening night thing, surely it would get better as the tour rolled on. sounded muddy and distorted, not to mention loud as fuck!!! had to be atleast 140 db .i keep hearing reviews that every show seems to be that way. why dont vh change there sound engineer? or sound company? could it be they really dont listen to what there fans or reviews are saying? im just glad i did not pay for those tickets.
    look,i'll pay you for it...wtf?

In the old days, their sound was loud, clear and super powerful...

A sound man with good ears is always hard to find. I can't even count the number of poorly mixed shows I've seen in my time. Anyone can learn how to operate the gear, but to have a discerning musical ear is something else entirely.

They keep it loud and distorted to cover up the bad performances.

They would rather you walk out of the concert saying that the sound was fucked and distorted, rather than say the band was shit.

Its the NEW "BROWN SOUND"! Honey Brown Ale sound! If Ed's completely torced, he wouldn't give two shits about the sound. Dave always said he had an input into their live sound. Didn't want it so LOUD and HArsh it scared off the ladies!

With ticket prices as high as they are, anything less than stellar sound is unacceptable.

Even sheep have commented that the mix on these Van Hagar shows has been atrocious.
