    1991 ALAE tour question

To my fellow Diamond Davidians from Pgh--I've always wondered this: did he come here to Starlake or anywhere for that matter on the "A Little Ain't Enough" tour?

I know the tour was cut short because of poor sales and that he played some places in the U.S. when he got back from overseas but never knew if he came here. I saw him in '94 at Metropol, and I know he came here in both '86 and '88 of course, but wasn't sure about '91. I had just become a VH fan at the end of the year in 1991 so that prior summer I wouldn't have even noticed if he played here.

    Let's go Bucs!

The tour dates for DLR start getting sketchy with the ALAE tour, the EEAS and Skyscraper tours have complete lists online.... But after those tours I add dates to my "This Day In CVH/DLR History" calendar as people give them to me....

What I show is that Van Halen played the Leona Theater and Stanley Theater once each, the Igloo six times, and the Consol Energy Center once....

And as you said, DLR played the Igloo in both '86 and '88......

I seem to recall DLR had a show booked in Ames, IA for the ALAE tour because I was in college back then and remember thinking how bad it sucked that Van Haggar played a sell-out show at Hilton Coliseum but Dave had to cancel because of poor ticket sales. I hated F.U.C.k. so I skipped that show, but I missed my chance to see D-Ro in his (somewhat) prime.

MPLS was at the end of the tour and was cancelled also. I was so disappointed. Hadn't seen him since the 80's. Then didn't see him until 2001 (3 times). Long drought with no DLR in my life...

Saw the ALAE show at Blossom. I remember the pavilion being packed but can't remember if the lawn was. We were not too far from the boxing ring.

Saw that show from the lawn at Canada's Wonderland. I remember a pretty good crowd.

In 5 short years he fizzled out. I was pissed at him when he left in the first place and then embarrassed for him as he did whatever he could to stay relevent. Then he finally gets back in and his singing is the worst it has ever been. All those years begging to come back and we have to listen to his screeching. If he spent as much time training his voice as he does twirling and sliding and skipping it might be easier to believe he's the same guy fom 1984.

Maybe they did play in Pittsburgh/Burgettstown if they hit Blossom. Just came back from Cleveland visiting wife's family a half hour ago oddly enough.

That's 5 years longer than my music career.

So did I. It looked packed to me. I remember the typical Dave arguing with someone called "Bob" who supposedly threw
some neon thingy at the stage, and Roth chastised "him". Funny how Dave always has to stop my concert to give someone
                    shit!!

NG, why did you miss the YFLM show?

I believe it was 8-16-94 at the Myth or something.

I was front row and some nice young lady puked on my shoes. Cheers!

This is helpful, although many of the dates don't have the venue...

When I get some free time I'll update the calendar, thanks....
