The biggest mistake on that lame ass commercial is putting Dave clips right next to Sam ones. They just plain blow that Van Hagar garbage away. Anyone notice how they show no closeups of Dave, or only show him from far away angles?! Pussies.

The reason they do that in the commercial is this: Hagar fans are usually 60+ years old living with their mamma in the trailer park. Knowing this, Van Hagar placed only birdseye and longshots of Roth in the commercial, hoping the poor-sighted Hagar fans believe that is Roy doing the splits off the drum riser.

Also, they mixed the Hagar and Roth songs up in the set hoping that the poor-hearing Hagar fans would believe that such classics as Jump and Hot For Teacher were Hagar songs. Thus, the three live songs at the end sung by Hagar for good measure.

The brain washing is nearly complete.

Never precluded EVH from producing something I couldn't dig just because Roth wasn't in the band, and have given the music he put out there after 1985 a fair listen. With the exception of 2 or 3 tunes, Ed and Van Halen post-Roth have done nothing for me. All the bullshit that comes ffrom Ed and Al's mouths and their piss-poor attitudes regarding Roth and their own classic output wouldn't make a difference to me if they made music that elicited anything from me other than apathy.

I agree with this 100 percent Terry. I'm sure we'd all still be discussing Ed on a regular basis, but there wouldnt be this infestation of Hagar threads. I really could care less, because as you all know VH died in 1985.
