I always maintained the best rock stars were nerds and misfits. I came across an old yearbook photo of Dave on the internet and man he was a nerd. He looked like a nerd in the photo. No Diamond Dave yet. The dude admitted to being a loner in his book. The reality is Dave has always been this way. He's a nerd. He's a misfit. He hid that aspect of himself from us in his younger years. Maybe we are seeing what drove the Van Halens nuts. Being stuck on the road with him would drive me nuts.

That being said, David Lee Roth is a rock and roll legend. Period. He's one of the best front men ever and he rolled onto the scene at the perfect time and place. It was great!
