Jim wasn't much of a materialist, but he did own several American made cars. I believe a Mustang was among them and he had a decent wardrobe. I believe it was up to Pamela to squander his fortune on stupid shit. He ultimately bought her a cottage somewhere, but felt financial pressure after he was arrested in Florida and had to go back out on the road with the Doors even as it appeared the government was doing everything it could to end their career...

I think he owned a Shelby GT. Check out his movie HWY. It's pretty strange shit. His character is based upon a serial killer sort of like The Hitcher. He drives a Mustang in the movie. Pamela didn't waste alot of Jim's money either. There was alot left when she died of an overdose a few years later.

I didn't make it out there last night but I plan on taking a trip through there this coming weekend. Last weekend I checked out places Jim Morrison lived or hung out at. I became interested after taking one of those Star Tours last summer. They went by a couple places Morrison frequented. I'm also interested in the Morrison/ Manson connection. I think Jim had good reason to fear Manson if those stories are true. Manson got around. He ran a bogus talent agency in Hollywood that was a front for prostitution before he was a hippy guru.

A lot of crazy stuff went on in Laurel Canyon in those days. Laurel Canyon isn't far from Ed's place. Jim also lived in Venice if I remember right.
