    Official Numbers For Bovii--138,284

Go to Blabbermout.net. They have a soundscan total for the new HITS comp by VH. THE TOTAL----138,284 UNITS FIRST WEEK. This is ALMOST 100,000 UNITS LESS THAN THE FIRST WEEK TOTAL FOR THE BOV1 (233,000 according to VH Newsdesk)with the 2 new trax from ROTH. Can't wait for the excuses on this one. It's totally fucking obvious there was much more excitement for the 2 ROTH tracks than the 3 hagar tracks. THE NUMBERS DON'T LIE.

why dont you post in the other threads about this instead of posting new threads? its essentially the same disc as best of v1, why would it sell?

Does it count as two units?

That would mean only 69,142 people actually purchased

        the piece of donkey dung.:D

          LIKE I SAID

NOWHERE near as much anticipation for the hagar trax as for the ROTH TRAX. PERIOD.

No, it doesn't. However, it does mean it only needs to do 250k to go gold.

yeah soundscan numbers are based on the upc code on the disc which it only gets one. for whatever reason the riaa multiplies it by the number of CDs when doing gold and platinum. i got plenty of reasons why it isnt selling but without a doubt thats the only relevant one. why buy the same CD again? just download new songs from ITunes or wherever.

Yes it is a very valid point. Why release basically the same album

again? Just proves how lazy, stupid, and incapable they are

                  of creating something new.:D

If they had any balls, Best of Volume 1 would have all Roth including the two new, setting them up perfectly for a release of Best of Volume 2 which could be all Sammy with the new three songs.

The only reason these lazy fucks put this release out was for the 3 songs. Its obvious that Eddie Van Liar and his sister want to forget the Roth days because there are no pictures of the band from that era in the cd from what I've heard. Only idiotic Spammy fans will buy this crap! Why didn't the band just release an EP with the 3 songs only? Makes no sense.

yup, shouldnt have been released, there are reports they were going to put it out without the band and asked if they wanted to be a part of it. who knows...whatever it was, it was stupid to put it out now

                            PLUS.....

There was minimal interest in NEW material from VAN HAGAR. These numbers prove that. 3 songs is a decent amount of new material, I mean many bands (when doing a project like this) only do 1 new song. The fact that they did 3 and it STILL DIDN'T COME CLOSE to the numbers of the first comp with the ROTH trax shows, there wasn't that much interest in new stuff from a Hagar fronted band.

there isnt much interest in Best of Volume 1 being released with three new hagar songs. i dont think it is an excuse at all....its a terrible release.

billboard doesnt happen to have ITunes sales in it. Id be curious to see what kind of sales/or lack there of are going to digital downloads of just the three new songs.
