I'm sure there will be a riveting chapter with anecdotes from Dave's zen master herding trainer with detailed subsections on proper sheep -vs- cattle techniques...

Just for Donnie they'll include a section on Ed's designer handbag mutts with a complimentary, souvenir edition striped doggie doo bag...

I wasn't aware the sheep dog training and excessive 'stripe everything!' marketing started back in the days when the band was playing backyard parties. Hmf. Learn something new every day.

From the VH Rising FB page:

This video captures a key moment in ‪#‎VanHalen‬ history. About a month prior, Van Halen had come back from New York City without a record contract, despite the support of KISS bassist Gene Simmons.

But here in mid-December is Roth on KROQ with one of the band's key (and unsung) supporters, DJ and scenester Rodney Bingenheimer, "The Mayor of the Sunset Strip," playing the demo version of "Runnin' With the Devil."

In a related note, I'm happy to report that last week I interviewed the gentleman who engineered this demo at Electric Lady Studios under the direction of Gene Simmons. Turns out no one had ever asked this engineer about his work with Van Halen. He'll have his say in Van Halen Rising.

This thread had some pretty thin rails to begin with...

I know it's en vogue right now but why do you want the in depth details on the period where Van Halen experimented with homosexuality?

That was no experimentation - Ed went full on gay for Sam.
