If they were smart, and of course they're not, they'd bring in a younger group with some actual rock musicianship to get the younger crowd in there.....
Eat Us And Smile - The Originals
"I have a very belligerent enthusiasm or an enthusiastic belligerence. I’m an intellectual slut." - David Lee Roth
"We are part of the, not just the culture, but the geography. Van Halen music goes along with like fries with the burger." - David Lee Roth

Updated Van Halen tour date rumors, according to reports from contacts in these venues:
1. San Manuel Amphitheater, San Bernardino, CA, July 5th (otherwise known as the US Festival site)
2. Xfnity Theatre, Hartford, CT, late July
3. Molson Canadian Ampitheatre, Toronto, ON, July 26th
3. Darling's Waterfront Pavilion (my guess), Bangor, ME
4. Royal Farms Arena, Baltimore
5. Jiffy Lube Live, Bristow, VA, Aug. 29th
6. PNC Bank Arts Center, Holmdel, NJ, Sept. 4th
7. Madison Square Garden, New York, NY, Sept. (3 nights)
8. Ak-Chin Pavilion, Phoenix, AZ, Sept. 27th
I think they'll get away with it by having a short tour.
Are there 16000 people in the whole of Canada that will take a punt on a Van Halen show on the back of a 2* live album and no promotion?

Yeah, like maybe KC And The Sunshine Band. Or Tony Orlando And Dawn.
I'd think with downloading, Touring would be the only way they'd see any money......
You know, I used to think so too. And I'm sure most people steal the stuff. But...I'm kinda shocked that most of my kid's friends want the physical CDs for their favorite bands. And IF those bands put out vinyl - they're buying that too. They want the CD and the little booklet that comes with it, same with the records. And they buy a digital copy too to listen to on their phones or whatever. My daughter has a couple of favorite groups and she's got three copies of all of their records - if they're available on vinyl. And believe it or not most of her friends do too.
Who likes Sabbath? They would draw as much as Satriani by himself if they are lucky... They're fine to open perhaps...but I might not see much of their show if they were the opening act.
