It's pretty funny watching 40+ year old men arguing passionately that their favorite male rock star is hotter than others.

Two that haven't been mentioned yet.

I saw Debbie Harry live once and the extent of her audience interaction was she mumbled the names of the some of the songs.

Apart from that she stood at the mike motionless all night. That said this was 'Maria' era and she would have been past her best.

It pains me to say this but I was dragged along to a Bon Jovi gig in the late 80s and he should probably be higher, I think he's getting marked down here for cheesiness.

We could look at this another way. Given how long Dave and VH have been out of the mainstream media glare, it is a testament to how truly astounding they were that he made the top 20 on memory alone.

Is that how you define how good a frontman is, on their hotness?

I see it as a totally different thing about entertainment value, showmanship, crowd control and stuff like that. Was Bon Scott hot looking, or Freddie Mercury for that matter?

                        I was just thinking that.

In the UK at least, at this point I would guess Dave would be just about the least famous of that top 20.

To the 'man on the street' he'd be one of the least famous on the list. They'd know VH, but could they name any of the members?
