I have listened to "Jump" and "Hot For Teacher" from the Tokyo live LP and then I had them juxtaposed to his US Festival performance and others. The verdict is this, Dave can sing better now (minus the screams), when he wants to! One hears extended notes in his proper register which are clear and rather powerful and lets one know that 2007/2008 was no fluke or no longer attainable... Dave is just too freaking hyper, if he would calm his ass down, he would could make a stellar impression on the upcoming live shows

All these years of being in Van Halen take a toll on a guy. I can respect that. Why he's toured, what, 18 months total with VH? That's a hell of a long time. We should just be glad he can still play and sing as well as he does at his age.
