May 17th. The Billboard gig is for today. Very, very curious as to how Dave will sound, and behave.
Dave's been criticized for months in this very place that was built for him, and it pisses me off just as much as I agree with the criticism,
though I'd kept pointing at his weaknesses since 2012 (how come it took the Tokyo Dome album to realize he was a shadow of himself,
while it had already been plain to see and hear throughout the 2012-13 tour??).
I'd even gone as far as saying his vocals were "embarrassing", which I still think. But I'll never feel Mike Anthony is missing. The only way
he does is as part of the original, pre-1985 lineup is, but that glorious era is way past. And he was too fine with Van Hagar, and he still looks
so with playing with Hagar, good on him. But it makes me snicker how the guy has become more popular here than Dave in quite some Army
members' books...
And though I can clearly understand why, reading here that EVH would have reasons for firing Dave makes me feel terribly uneasy.
Anyway, I just hope they'll play Drop Dead Legs tonight, and Dave will have sharpened up.posted by Ellyllions Men say, "I'll never understand women."
