We should not be over hasty in drawing conclusions in respect of the whole from our observation. My unbiased observation shows that the majority of musicians lead real shitty lives whether they are failed ones or not.

I have done professional art for a lot of people in the music industry, and it seems pretty much of what you state is true. I have gotten to the point where I do not even want people telling me about musicians anymore which I like or thought where cool in this small circle of friends where they really all seem to know each other, because then I hear stories from people who would know without any apparent agenda and I cannot listen to the music anymore after I thought the person was a nice guy lol
