A Lot of hate out for DLR!!!!!!

In my state Lynyrd Skynyrd played a free concert, so I thought I'll go check it out. I wore one of my classic Van halen t-shirt that had Dave with the band to the concert.

I bumped into a group of guys that hated Dave and vh, they complained how old the shirt was, told me how much DLR sucked, called him a faggot and also called him a pre Madonna. Then he went on how great Spammy is solo and with VH. Another guy who stood behind me at the concert told me how much a Asshole DLR is and how he use to steel Eddie's spot light. I guess DLR is a hated man.

I was wearin' my got roth? shirt the other day, (it says "rustoffa" on the back) and this guy at the BP goes, "hay man, what does that rustoffa shit mean? followed by some crank-fueled stuttering shit about sam or something. That's gotta be the silliest thing i've read in a while...lol. No offense, but Eddie's recognition came from the fact that he's a brilliant innovator. Dave had zero to do with that. Peace.

Now....as for the "band"...i'll give you that Dave did the selling as far as being the "MC", as it were. He was the main mouthpiece, as most singers in bands are.....and his charisma was/is unmatched. But, Eddie would've been recognized for the genuis on guitar that he is regardless.

Amen. Somewhere around here there's is/was an interview of Brian Young who said as much. Without Dave to sell/market the band, Eddie at best would have ended up as some on the level of a Yngwie Malmsteen or maybe a Buckethead minus the bucket. It was Dave pushing the band that got Eddie in the spotlight. Hell without Sam Ed would still be locked in his studio smokin' and drinking his life away.

Ed would've definately been recognized as a great guitarist without DLR, but the problem lies in the fact that DAVE helped form those riffs into KICK ASS SONGS, which in turn got them to be SUPER FAMOUS, hence changing the face of music forever. Without DLR, Ed would've been a success, just not MEGASTAR... Dave made 'em FAMOUS with his DRIVE, intensity, and CHARISMA, something Roy has none of...
