      Well, maybe...

The Village People are actually taken seriously as a retro act, though.

      Twistin' by the pool.

At least the fucking Village People(as pathetic as they are) know what their place in the musical world is. Sammy thinks he is the most famous rock superstar ever, and that everyone in the world was begging for this reunion. "Honey can I please go see the Van Hagar show tonight.........I promise I'll rub your feet and wipe your ass when I get home!"

See, that's the thing I've never really understood - why Hagar thought he ever had a solo career in the first place. Van Halen came knocking in 1985 and considering where they were as to where he was, joining was the smartest thing he could have done...and yet, throughout the next ten years, his solo career was damn well kicking for having joined the band full time (1987's self titled album, a 1992 best of from Capitol, a 1994 best of from Geffen with new material, performing his solo material with the band live, et al). Who is he trying to fool? Van Halen was the best damn thing that ever happened to him and he hasn't done a damn thing to either add to the legacy or even respect what it was before he came aboard.

I just will never be able to understand people who can look at Hagar and not see him for the utterly laughable fool that he is.

The thing that gets me is when he says "Dave had no career after VH". Sammy was a c level performer with only a couple A list moments(though personally I can't stand any phase of Sam's career, Montrose included) After VH, Dave was VERY successful from 85-90. Sammy acts like it was HIS presence that made VH huge. There's no way in hell anyone's gonna remember Sammy's solo career. He will be known simply for joining VH after Dave left...........so nothing more than a footnote and even thats too good for him.
