VAN HAGAR, THEY DID CONSIDER IT
I've posted this before but in one of the back issues for Modern Drummer in 1985 AVHalen was listed in a endorsement ad and it said Alex Van Halen and right below his name where the band name is listed it said VAN HAGAR. I can't remember for sure or not if it was a Paiste, Ludwig, or Simmons Electronics ad but I almost fell off my chair when I saw it because I didn't know they considered it that closely. Obviously someone in the VH camp must have told some people they were going to change the name. Then they obviously ultimately decided to keep the original name. Despite the fact that the new material in many ways did not even resemble the stellar first 6 albums. They should have changed the name. WCTBLove, Dreams & LWIn are abominations. Not to mention sub par tracks like Inside & 5150. Van Halen died in 85'.
