    ADKOT no longer in Spotify?

Seems like ADKOT is no longer available in Spotify or other streaming services. At least it doesn't show up when I try to search it in Spotify, Tidal or Qobuz. And latest release in albums category is VH III.

    Wow. You're right.

I'm on Apple Music and I had ADKOT added and downloaded to my library a while ago and now the songs aren't there anymore.

Pandora has ADKOT listed as "unavailable". But the "Live In Tokyo" album is still there. My guess is that it's a record label issue, since WB released the live album, but ADKOT was the one and only Van Halen record on another label, Interscope/UMG.

Maybe UMG has dropped the album, since it's now 10 years old, and whatever contract the band may have signed at the time, they won't be making any more albums for obvious reasons. If this is the case, WB should pick up the rights to the album, since they have all the others... including the live record with some of the ADKOT songs on it.

Yeah that's probably it. Hopefully WB will pick it up. What they should do is re-release it with a better mix. The sound on the album is real muddy. But I don't think they will do that.

Oddly enough, YouTube seems to have pulled the official videos for "Tattoo" and "She's The Woman", so there's definitely some corporate issues going on here with anything ADKOT related.

A re release by WB would be a great idea. They can bill it as the final recorded album with Eddie Van Halen. Add in a new mix and maybe demo versions in a new package and it could actually boost sales of the album itself.

                Mike?

How does he make anything off an album he had nothing to do with?

He barely makes much on the CVH catalog and with Van Hagar never seen re-releases, he doesn't make anything off of that either.

Mike made something, because he's got a pretty substantial net worth. He didn't get that from playing clubs with Clichegar.

He might have made some good investments with his money. If you bought California real estate in the 80’s and sold before things slowed down, just with that you got a good return on investment.

Sammy Hagar made more money off his business enterprises than he did in music. Sam is actually a pretty good business person. He saw the need for a travel agency that understood what traveling acts on the road needed. He started one years ago and it’s the big agency a lot of road acts use. He’s made a fortune just with that.

Mike is worth like $70 million. He didn't get that by selling his house.

He got by Roth suggesting they just split the writing royalties 4 ways...

Mike only signed away his rights to the Van Halen name, logos and trademarks... He did not sign away his song writing and royalty rights.

Reality is... he has more royalty potential and current income stream than Roth due to his stake in the whole Van Halen catalog through Van Halen III. Roth only has the 6-Pack, Best of and ADKOT era royalty streams. Mike even has the improved royalty rates that were negotiated during the Hagar era that Roth sued Van Halen over and dropped his suit from 2002.

Whatever credits Roth's legal representation posted with the Cover Band™ material to get these up on Spotify, etc... can't legally exclude Michael Anthony from his song-writing and royalty claims if any revenue were to be generated by those recordings.

Mike and his estate when he passes will be collecting royalty payments for majority of the Van Halen catalog for a long, long time.
