There's only so much emotional milage to be milked out of Edward's death to keep him in the popular ranks. Clearly his 2nd album and musical talents aren't skyrocketing him to fame...
    Agreed.

Its tanking hard. No one cares and he doesn't have the looks to sustain any sort of public image because hes a fat slob.

Perhaps he can go the Lizzo route and be a champion for fatties. Start saying "its ok to be fat. Fat is beautiful".

I'm not in the boot trading circles. I've always just asked someone from here and I've gotten all that stuff. What about the other two shows? Those been in the boot trading circles too?

Uh, have you seen where Creed is playing, and how this tour is selling? No, I don't get it, but this will probably be one of the top tours of the summer.

That's the fucking lamest fucking Tweet EVER.

Wolfgang's 1st album came out almost HALF A DECADE ago.

By the time his dad's 1st album was HALF A DECADE old, he was headlining his biggest-ever show at the US FESTIVAL for half a million people.

Here is Wolfgang...opening for fucking Creed. CREED!!!!!!!!!!!!

    FUCKING pathetic.

P.S. The opening act for this summer's "Van Halen tribute" sham is fucking Loveboy.

LOVERBOY!!!! (When I was an eight-year-old, growing up in Toronto, my friends and I would be in the playground making fun of LOVERBOY!!!)

How the living fuck do the Sammy & Wolfgang sheep look at themselves in the mirror and not think they're fucking crazy???

The 1996 Roth reunion - a PROPER reunion with an entire album and a tour - was a case of everything being lined up and ready to go in theory. Even if Ed insisted on getting a hip replacement before the tour, fine. They could have taken as much time as needed to write the material for the album, record it, let Ed tend to and mend his injuries and rehearse for the tour.

Eddie just didn't want to do it. He wanted to do it all his way.

2000, after 4 years of Eddie doing it his way, Cherone was out. Dave was still ready to go. Mike was still in the band at that point. Everything was lined up in theory for ANOTHER bite at the apple.

Nope. Ed opted to drink himself into oblivion, then after a couple years of that do a half-assed Van Hagar reunion.

Honestly, as dysfunctional or fucked up or whatever the band was back in the 1970's and first half of the 1980's, they turned out a great album and a tour pretty much once a year like clockwork. From 1985 to 1998, Van Halen recorded less, toured less, sold less albums with each subsequent release...with Van Halen, the legend was already cemented when Dave left in 1985. Everything else that transpired after 1985 (including the stuff Dave was involved with) wasn't as good. The reunion took too long to happen. Ed took too long to get sober. Too many years were pissed away. Too much of Ed's talent was pissed away...by Ed. The Van Halens and Roth did the best they could come 2007 with what they had left, but too much had been frittered away since 1985. And THAT is the fucking shame of it...THAT is the shame of Van Halen: all that ability and talent. But Ed became successful and earned the right to drink his talent away. Dave became successful and earned the right to quit the band.

    Bozdeybozdeybop...de de bop.

Uh oh...here comes the geek in me.

What did Kirk say to Khan in STAR TREK II?

"Like a poor marksman, you keep MISSING THE TARGET!"

    That was Van Halen.

And... The Assclown in chief won't call it quits. Arrrrrgh... He has to make himself conspicuous and twist the knife by claiming his share of the pie he only cuntributed to spoil.
And... Ed's fucking kid, who triggered Dave's comeback on stage with Ed, eventually proves to be a sneaky little bastard by spitting on diehard fans and somehow CVH, attacking Dave publicly and supporting the Assclown's announced mock-VH tour.
There is sure a shitload of stuff to say about all of it, but what a pain in the guts, really.
Shit, after nearly 40 years of seeing CVH devolve first into the Sammy Hagar Synth Pop Express then blow an easy-peasy Roth reunion to diddle with the lead singer of Extreme then flush a CVH reunion down the toilet so we can get the...er, "wonder' of Eddie Van Halen's kid, this recent stuff Van Halen fanwise is just another day/par for the course.

It's like, even after Eddie's death, this band remains the Gang That Couldn't Shoot Straight. Of COURSE they can't hit the target. Their aim has sucked since 1984.

In terms of the lack of Van Halen box sets, vhs/dvd releases of old footage or deluxe editions of the 6 pack albums chock full of outtakes or whatnot I can't blame Eddie's kid, either.

Van Halen should have been doing that type of stuff in tangible physical media form between 1996 and 2006, before Wolfgang was part of the band.

Fuck, instead of just recording an album with Roth in 1996 and touring with the classic lineup - which is what everybody wanted - Eddie had to first futz around with Gary Cherone, THEN do a Van Hagar reunion nobody was particularly asking for before eventually submitting to a Roth reunion ten years too late.

Far as the 'fuck the fans. I do what I want' attitude, Eddie Van Halen's kid is just demonstrating learned behavior.

I like Montrose. And people can attack me all they want. But that first Montrose album is pretty awesome (better than anything Van Hagar ever did).

BUT...if you're Sammy Hagar, this supposed HUGE rock star, and the opening act for your "reunion tour tribute" thingy is Loverboy...that's pretty sad.
I was (sort of) being facetious re: Loverboy...but Lucky Ones IS kinda my shit, yo!

When they go through Von Halen’s hard drive they will also find picks of him 3rd row at the ‘Balance’ Tour making that gay Van Hagar signal with his hands! And another of you topless twisting your nipples like that creepy guy in The Silence of the Lambs when you were inside the rings at the 2004 Van Hagar reunion!

Don’t act like it didn’t happen!
