The difference between Eddie Van Halen and Jimmy Page
Led Zepplin are still referred to as one of the most talented and respectable bands ever, whereas VH have been forgotten. All because Dave left and Ed then fucked up what was left. Had VH been left at Dave walking out, the band would be looked upon by everyone.
Moving webhosts & will be making changes to the picture hosting - watch this space..
Eddie once said that Jimmy Page played like a "3 year old with a broken wrist".
It's sad, because Eddie could play circles around Jimmy Page when EVH was in his prime, but no one outside of the immediate VH fan base is going to recognize that.
The Rolling Stones didn't when Mick Jones died....or was he kicked out first?
Mick Jones is the fat guy in Foreigner. Also the guy who 'produced' 5150. Oh wait, no, Eddie always said that Jones didn't do anything, and that Eddie himself is 100% responsible for that brilliant, poppy, totally hip, digital, lifeless, plastic sound. (Have to admit I liked 5150 when it came out. I was 12 years old)

The members of the Rolling Stones signed a pact with Satan back in the 60's. In exchange for giving him their souls, Satan assured them that no matter how old and haggard they looked, the Stones would be immortal.

THAT is the bottom line.

Originally posted by dave_is_vh The difference between Eddie Van Halen and Jimmy Page is that Page fully respects the greatness which was Led Zeppelin.
Eddie disrespects the greatness that was classic Van Halen.
When Jimmy Page brought in other singers to replace Robert Plant, he didn't try to rip off the public by calling it "Led Zeppelin". Since Page respected what he did with Plant, and his fans as well for that matter, he called his band with Paul Rogers "The Firm". NOT "Led Zeppelin". He called his band with David Coverdale "Coverdale Page". NOT "Led Zeppelin". Hell he even called his classics cover band with Plant by a different name.
Eddie on the other hand disrespects the greatness which was classic Van Halen, and the fans, by calling his band with Hagar by the name "Van Halen". He refuses to respect the legacy that was classic Van Halen. He happily rips off fans that don't know any better (the uninformed) and fans that are too stupid to know better (the sheep) by calling his new band "Van Halen".
It is really unfortunate because I think classic Van Halen was as great as Led Zeppelin.

:D
Anita Pallenburg put that black magic whiskerbiscuit on 'em and the rest is history.
Jimmy page hurt his back 'cause "the Les Paul was a bit heavy".
Eddie Hurt his hip constantly "inserting foot in mouth" without stretching.
