I just come back from a store where I read an article in a metal mag about van hagar. they made an interview by phone with the bass player (TBP).
while the band was doing the soundcheck TBP gave a shit about what his sound would be this night and talked to the german mag (TBP: "soundcheck is important but letting the fans in europe know about what's going on is more important")
TBP says that when he was playing with hagar and the wabos he felt that hagar "still has the power and the energy and that the final word in the VH history has not been spoken yet".
what we get to read is that the new album is a mega seller and the three new songs are brilliant, "learning to see" one of the band's all-time-masterpieces says the mag (what a perfect example of investigative journalism this is) there are no plans for a full album in the future because at that point the band has no real deal with a rec-company and the best of is only a kind of catalogue thing. they also didn't have much time to think about making a new record, because so many gigs were offered so fast that they suddenly found themselves in tour busses and air planes...
they only play to "OUTSOLD" arenas and the tour is such a success that they have to add date after date. after more than 80 dates in the US they think about going to japan. (the mag reports this as facts not as spoken word from TBP, maybe they should ckeck the internet and this site from time to time as they claim to be a serious music magazine)
everyone is so happy that sam is back after the management divided the band in 1996 (so they finally found someone to blame for the split) and after every attempt to get back together with david lee roth failed. and this will be the final chapter of the band's history...
sorry if I missed something but I didn't bother buying the mag...I had enough from what I had to read in the store...
