Ok, OK, DG! Here it goes, folks!

First of all, the ARMY REPRESENTED BIG TIME!!! I met so many Army folks last night, and it was S-W-E-E-ET! The place was packed and hyped up. I don't remember the name of the band that was onstage when I got there (10:30 eastern), but they had the place rockin'. I stepped outside to grab a smoke and wait for Russtoffa to arrive (we were playing phone tag all week!) I had my blue "It Ain't VH" shirt on so that I could be found easily. Russ and the Mrs. found me, we yapped like old friends, then went inside the club.

When Dutch said the club is 'intimate', he ain't lying! I was bumping up against so many folks the 'molesting police' would arrest everybody in there, but it was cool! LOL! Finally, VAN HEINEKEN set up and was ready to rock, and rock they did! Dutch, you had me laughing like a motherfucka when you came onstage in full Diamond Dave gear! Oh, that loud blond wig was the SHIT, and that ass was sweet in the spandex (I grabbed it a couple of times)! The fellas were tight, y'all! When they did 'Hot For Teacher', they had two "teachers" in scantily-clad outfits join them onstage! Those same to grrls made a sceond appearance during 'Beautiful Girls'. These fellas rocked the house on 'Mean Street', 'Unchained', 'Somebody Get me A Doctor', 'Dance The Night Away', 'Unchained', and 'Ain't Talkin' 'bout Love'!!! The night was fantasic and I had a great time. Even this 'Courtney Love'-looking chick couldn't spoil it! That chick was higher than the clouds and constantly grabbing Dutch's belt and trying to stick a beer bottle down his spandex! Awww, SHIT! "Eddie" was better than the real deal last night, y'all! He fuckin' NAILED "Eruption" and all of the Eddie solos! "Mikey" was awesome on that bass, and "Alex" was pounding the shit outta those skins! I'm sooo impressed with these guys, and I'm really glad the ARMY came out in full force!

Oh, I have to give Russtoffa big props for relieving us from the heat by being our favorite "Ice Cream Man"!! He had the whole 'Good Humor' man gear on, tossing popsicles into the audience as the fellas jammed on the song! And the little people pouring Jack Daniel's into the band members' mouths was hilarious!

    VAN HEINEKEN ROCKS!!!!!

:p Was that good enough for ya, DG? LMAOBT!

I want to thank everyone who came out for Van Heineken. It was an absolute blast, and possibly the most fun I've ever had standing up. The place was just about packed to capacity. I'd guess around 200 to 300 people -- probably the same numbers Van Hagar did at Philips. LOL! It was wonderful meeting Switch (you're a true sweetheart!) and really exciting hearing everyone singing the words back at me. I can't wait to do it again!

:D Well, everyone was singing the words back to you with gusto, until you put the mic in our faces! I, for one, chickened out (Hey, in the shower I'm Whitney Houston; outside of it, it's 'Bullfrog City', LOL!) The 'Bret Michaels' looking dude that was beside me handled it like a pro! You're a sweetie, too, and you all made this 'Yankee Rose in Rebel Land' feel very welcome and I appreciate it immensely!

Just let me know when and where Van Heineken will play again, and I'll be there!

        NUTHIN' BUT YEAH!

The show was one hell of a success, the crowd was absolutely insane from beginning to end. Several local musicians (professionals) came up to me after the show just blown away by the band and the fever-pitch it drove the crowd to.

This same reaction happened at the radio station as well. There is a "pop" station owned by 99X on the same floor and each station has a viewing window into the studio the band was set up in. I helped out on the backup vocals during the song and noticed all the dj's from BOTH stations jumping around in the windows just fucking rocking their asses off during the song.

This speaks volumes about the enduring, unmistakable power and viability of classic VAN HALEN. There weren't any van hagar cover bands on the radio friday morning or doing a show friday night. You know why? Because no one would have given two shits about it.

Hats off to Jon Waterhouse, Max Forstater, Kelly Sanford, and Alberto Cruz Luna for gettin' their ROTH on and kicking some serious fucking ass. BTW, being head of Van Heineken security is no small task....I worked up a sweat just helping the dancers change costumes!
