It's probably a loophole the promoter dug up to cancel the show, knowing he wasn't making enough money by keeping the band booked.

Yeah, I checked this link and "E" tv's, yet no real info is listed...bare in mind the quote states "Van Halen's Touring Company", which may or may not be acting in the band's interests.

Besides, this sounds like an astute financial ploy to recoup some potential losses...like the guaranteed retainer for the band's performance.

And I rarely associate the word "astute" with Van Halen these days.

Next they'll sue us for owning the old VH records.

            Van Halen Sues The Orioles

(08/16/04) -- Van Halen's touring company is suing the Baltimore Orioles for $2 million for backing out on a deal to let the band play a concert at Oriole Park early next month. In other news, Eddie and Alex Van Halen are slated to perform at their singer Sammy Hagar's "Birthday Bash" celebration on October 13th at the Cabo Wabo Cantina in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico.

Great...so the cabo wabo bar is the home of the spam.

They are selling out only about 1 out of 5 arena shows on average!

They didn't sell out the MCI arena in nearby DC. Who the hell would try to book them for Oriole Park?? I'd like to know why Oriole Park backed out, although I'm pretty sure I already know.

Not as much right as Dave had to sue VH.

They were STEALING 75 cents on the dollar from Mr. Roth. That's money that was already in the bank.

Suing Oriole Park for money that wouldn't have been made anyway is pretty low.

Its too bad that The ORIOLES don't/didn't let this concert happen.....I'd LOVE to see what 7,000 people look like sitting in a 50,000 seat stadium!!!!!!!
It would have looked like they were playin' to the road crew!!!
Can these guys GET ANY worse?
