How cool is this?

So, I'm driving with my four year old the other day and we're tracking through a mix cd trying to find something he'll listen to. Prince? No, Springsteen? No, Jane's Addiction? No, The Police..... you get the picture.

Then he hears the first two chords of Panama and it's "Yeah, Daddy! That!" and he's rocking out in the back seat. Once the song ends, "I wanna do that again!"

It was so cool to see someone catch VH fever for the first time. I went right home and burned a classic VH mix for him and now we rock out every time we go somewhere.

I had similar experiences with both of my kids. My 8 year old son is " hot for teacher". he loves that song. My 6 year old daughter is partial to VH 1, you really got me and Jamies cryin... I even got em both " It aint VH without DLR shirts...

now the boy wants a guitar....

Yeah, he's partial to the big rock. He was kind of cool on "Jump" which indicates to me that he'd probably not be interested in the Hagar stuff (huge sigh of relief!)

My kids are the same way! I didn't tell them anything about Van Halen history before I exposed them to first the Roth era then the Hagar era...all 3 of them (11, 8 and 4, respectively) loved the Roth era and absolutely hated everything the Hagar era produced.

Even KIDS can see it
