Fuck, figures TO sold out. Just remember that sheep from all over the country grazed there way here to see this show. I bet you if they were to have shows across Canada there would be no freakin way that the show in TO would've sold out.
      How about #'s for Oakland?

They happen to have the same thread (figures wise) over there.

They must see/intrepet the numbers differently??

jimmy responded to a post of mine in that thread and the way he responded proves he was here today. He's trying to start with me tonight and I've done nothing wrong. I'm not getting into it with him or anyone else over there tonight. I can't post the time of day lately and not get shit upon.

The Olympics are on and if I get lucky I can see women's volleyball. :D

Imagine how bad those numbers would be if they weren't using false advertising (i.e. Dave songs) to promote it and trick the uninformed into coming.

Like I said, I was at the show in Denver and the best way to describe it was: sad. Some local hack "music journalist" in the morning rag tried to prop them up and yet he was writing like a used car salesman trying to push off a lemon of a band on you.

The whole night was an insult for a lot of reasons. First (and I know some of you hardcore fans won't agree with me here) was the price. Even though I didn't pay for it, $90 for a ticket to see a bunch of burned-out, bloated, alcoholic fuckwits just fucks me right off. I mean, it's like "we're Van Halen - you know the guys who brought you Jump and Dance the Night Away - if you want to see us play our stuff worth playing in the first place we're going to do it our loyal fans at gunpoint." Face it, okay? They don't play for their fans anymore - they play for rich fucks who can afford their arrogant ticket prices; we're talking people in suits, basically. And I know that's not entirely their fault as seeing they are being promoted by those evil greedy music-ruining douchebags at Clear-Channel

Second was the music - they rushed through the Roth tunes and seemed to take their time stroking the FAT boys ego with Right Now and that other shitty tune that was a "hit" for them that no one remembers or fucking cares about. When they played Jump it was a joke -Sammy can't in any fucking way possible pull off such a uplifting and positive song with the enthusiam Roth did. Roth gave that song it's punch and Sammy sings it like he's at his gay "Cabo-Cuntsnot" bar at fat secretary karaoke night. People were actually booing it! I'm not making it up! In between the few (and predictably selected) Roth tunes people were calling Sammy a "cunt" a "fucking sad excuse" and a "fucking poser" and told him to "get the fuck off the stage" which I all found to be highly amusing.

Lastly, and this really, REALLY fucked me off the most was the band's attitude toward their audience - people like you! And by that I mean the hardcore fans who grew up and followed Van Halen and supported them. They couldn't give a fuck. It was like at the end of the show they had their shit-eating grins that said, "oh yeah, we may suck but you paid $90 to watch us suck." Again, they rushed through the Roth-era songs, Sammy seemed to look so isolated out there and Eddie looked like he wanted to distance himself away from the rest of the band entirely.

In the end you get the sense that you've been had. That this is not a band per se but a Xerox copy of the former Van Halen. There was no enthusiam, no cohesion, no joy in the faces of the band as they played - nothing. Yeah, look for the VH-1 movie on them soon.

What is this? Celebrating bad attendance figures?

                              Affirmation? Yes.

Consolidation of well thought out opinions? Yes.

                              A reason to celebrate? No.

I find it sad, that such a thunderous trio, could have lost it so completley.

I see no victory in declining sales figures. I only see decline.

                              More is the pity.
