Ed's Playing

Ed's playing has obviously gone downhill.
He was still good when he started lying.

He was so good at one point, I consider him my favorite guitarist.

The brownsound made alot of people buy power boosters so they could hear it louder.

Make no mistake, Ed was the power booster. VAN HALEN couldn't have happened without him, literally.

I think alot of folks have a problem, maybe a complete disbelief, of or with what VAN HALEN turned into.

I don't see alot of people saying Ed's guitar work sucked on UNCHAINED, and that he looked like a fucking idiot in his overalls that matched his guitar.

The respect for the Ed we all used to know is somewhere.

I have no problem with the disrespect towards a repeated liar that has disrespected his own fans POINT BLANK.

Wake the fuck up ED.

Like I said, Ed is THE reason I picked up the guitar, the reason I started building my own guitars, and the reason I practiced my ASS off as a kid to even ASPIRE to his level of brilliance. I'm not dissing him. It makes me sad to see and hear about him not playing up to par, especially if it's for the suspected reasons. I'd just like to see him tearing it up again like he used to, and no doubt still could. I think Dave needs to bitch-slap him a couple of times like 'Dude, wake up! Let's go rule the world again!' Hey---it could happen.......

Yeah, but Dave's drinking ENHANCED the show. EVH's drinking has done nothing but brought the performance DOWN and made his soloing ramble and incoherent. SHAMEFUL.

dude you know the boots are not a great sound. i seen 3 shows on this tour two at the centrum one in hartford.. ed did a great job in the centrum. the hartford show he did a diffrent type solo.. this was some cool shit great fucking solo from ed.. maybe one of his best solo he has put together in yrs.. i been going to the vh shows since the 80s. but this was a very good evh at the hartford show.. evh is king...

I'm not talkin' 'bout the sound quality dude, the ACTUAL playin' is fucking CRIMINAL!!! EVH sounds LOST and completely SLOPPY!!! NOBODY has EVER said that about the guy before. I've seen EVH numerous times in the 80's, and he NEVER sounded so out of it. Missing cues, missing fills in songs, and generaly FUCKING up!!! It's embaressing for his FANS, and should be for HIM as well. It's hard to imagine that they even went out on this tour with him in such ROUGH shape. He needs to lay OFF THE BOOZE!!! The guy has the MOST DEDICATED fans in the world, it's a shame to see and hear him take advantage of them like this.

matt that is my point the boy was not sloppy.. and like i said the harford show was the best one out of the three... he was on time all nite ..if dave gets back in when you go you will know what im talking about...

it's difficult to judge someones playing while being to a show...I've been to shows I thought they were great and people went nuts and when I listened to the recordings or saw them on tv I could hear that it wasn't as brilliant as I remembered it from being there...
