    Record sales don't lie

I was at Best Buy today. I went to the Van Halen section. There were lots of copies of Best Of Both Worlds. There were also many copies of the classic Van Halen CDs for sale. But you know what wasn't there? That's right - there were NO Van Hagar CDs for sale. It is pretty simple, retailers stock what sells and forget the rest. The fact that Best Buy only had classic Van Halen CDs and no Van Hagar CDs shows that what the people want is Dave. And even more importantly - Ed and Al are having this pounded into their head every time they get their royalty checks in the mail.

Time to give the people what they want - FUCKHEADS!

5 STAR BRO! If it was only that easy. EVH & SHEMP are 2 ARROGANT FUCKS who couldn't care LESS what the fans want. It's OBVIOUS the only way to make those 2 ASS-PIPES seeing the light is to hit 'em where it hurts...IN THEIR WALLETS!!!!!

    FUCK YOU Van Hagar!!!!!

hey look fellas, I totally agree w/ u guyz and Van Hagar sux ass IMO, but the lack of VHagar cd's stocked on the racks could be Warner Brothers pulling the old versions, for the new Van Hagar "REMASTERS" waiting to come out
      later this fall...

then again, maybe not. I really don't care for whatever became of VAN HALEN after David Lee Roth!!!

Same in OZ. The Classic VH albums are well stocked along with BOV1 and now BOBW. Ocassionally, I'll see a copy of 5150 or OU812.

Yeah I guess that's possible. However, if the BOBW debacle is anything to go by, I really doubt the Van Hagar remasters are going to sell.

See plenty of copies of the BOBW CD at various record store displays, as well as classic VH remastered CDs selling for full price.

Only Van Hagar I see at any of the record stores are cassettes selling for $1.99 in the bargain bins.

Make of that what you will.

Mine usually carries an even amount but usually only specific ones. They have a lot Balance, Diver Down, WACF, and 5150 but I couldn't find Fair Warning anywhere except for a record exchange place.

Record Sales DO lie! Shania Twain has the 5th higest selling cd ever, and she put out shit!

                        BUUUUUUUUTTTTT

you are right, the DLR albums are alot more sellable, and im sure they are picked up a whole lot more than a hagar album. If i was a first time halen fan, and i had to choose between 5150 and 1984 no question i would pick up 1984

Being a former Employee of Best Buy I will add at my particular store we always had plenty of VH from both eras.

Of course I did always order more for kicks and laughs when we had the "maximum" amount the computer would allow us. (i also ordered other albums that were hard to find for best buy, solo DLR is an example).

If the supervisor doesnt order any cd's the computer automatically does it and it pretty much updates itself after an album sells.

Thats a crying shame its turned into that way. I would take a teenagers opinion on what sells before I listen to what a comp would say based on record sales. The charts are programmed that way. Records are released at different peak positions originally to spike interest in the album. The DJ's get their program as to what to play, and people are force fed music we mostly don't like because its forgettable. One or two hit wonders. I choose to listen to all types of music mainly because Id hate to think I was missing something good. I mostly prefer the classics in rock and I like some of the newer pop shit. But I will force myself to check out Willie Nelson (blue eyes crying in the rain and I was hooked) and stuff like the Pointer Sisters. Some of their older stuff is pretty decent.
But 99% of my CD selections/day is VH classics and demos. I think its a sickness.
