My dream is that someday, somehow, Van Halen and David Lee Roth will reunite to record and tour again. Like I said, it's a DREAM of mine. I've gone to a lot of shows, but that's the one show I'd really like to see more than anything. I bet there are a lot of fans who feel this way. It looks like after all these years the boys could "turn over a new leaf" or put their differences aside long enough to do something really positive for their FANS. It's really a shame that they can't do this, especially when the original members are still alive and kicking. I'm glad for the Van Halen concerts I went to back in the 80's when David Lee Roth was with them. Those were the good old days, and that was the REAL Van Halen! The band was so much more creative with David Lee Roth being a part of it. The music was new and raw. When Van Halen came on the scene, their music was fresh and totally different than anything else anybody had ever heard. Hell, they even started somewhat of a fashion trend with the various stripes that they used to wear. Van Halen may have sold a lot of records during the time since Sammy Hagar has been the lead singer, but all the Van Halen music now just sounds like it's geared for the radio and isn't very exciting to listen to at all. I want the original 4 back together again!
Do it for the Fans!

You're in good company here...MANY of us share that very same dream. I myself was just getting my first exposure to Van Halen in 1984, so I unfortunately missed out on the heyday...but heydays can come again...
I have faith that this whole Sammy Hagar reunion will be apparent to the public that it was to no avail, and they'll be forced to realize that their only hope of going out on a positive note is to finish the final chapter with the original four authors.

Im positive we all feel this way.
Its so frustrating for us as fans, as we know they are
all still alive, and if they really wanted it, still capable..
I believe Dave wanted it. As CAT so rightly pointed out,
it would be wrong for Dave to be with them at the moment,
as EVH is not where he should be. But even in this tour
of utter despair, Edward *IS* getting practice. So there
is even a positive in this whole Van Hagar debacle.
Sure he might not be practicing the classics, but the
fucker is playing again. The more he plays, the closer
he gets to the required level..
Its a Dream we can keep while all four still draw a breath...
Even if they get past a point where touring is not an option,
I think one more classic album is not such an unrealistic
thing to wish for. But really its all hinging on EVH.
I feel sad for all these people that post here saying
"ED is still the king". Grab a copy of Ozzy's tribute album
and hear how a king plays live...
EVH is not where he should be.. King ???? No, but at least
he is thinking about the throne. Thats better than what
we had this time last year.
Dave needs Ed to be at his best
Spammy just needs Ed to be chemically verticalBABY PANA 2 IS Coming !! All across the land, let the love and beer flow !

And thats the IRONIC thing about this tour. We ALL remember the "With DAVE, we wouldn't make it to CLEVELAND" shit that the SISTERS were sellin' back in 1996. AS IF DAVE was somehow sub-par and couldn't handle touring with the genius of EVH!!!! Now, EVH is a drunken Shell of a man, butchering his CLASSIC hits. He struggles (My back was hurt in an accident...with a 5th of RIPPLE!) to stand for an entire show and "noodles" all night. A TOTAL EMBARESSMENT!!!
But HEY, maybe they will get it together somewhere down the road and put the band back together.
DAVE OR THE GRAVE BABY!!!Comment

I agree with Cathedral. Dave's way better off without the sisters... at least live. A VH studio reunion might be interesting though.Comment

To all of you who replied back, you're all basically right!....And in order for them to reunite, they DO all need to be in top form physically and mentally, and being creative and not just getting out there to make some fast money or something!....If they ever did get back together and toured, I WOULD DEFINITELY GO! I would go the extra mile to see and hear THAT! I wouldn't miss it for anything! I've been to a lot of shows in my day and their concerts that I witnessed in the '80's were some of the very best! (Even though I might've been just a little messed up and having TOO good of a time at that one show! Ha!) Yeah, those were the days! Not nearly as much responsibility for me back then!Comment
